Flag Retirement

“The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem of display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning.”

(The United States Flag Code)

At Consolidated, we believe the care and proper handling of the American flag are very important. When a flag becomes faded, torn, or otherwise unserviceable, there are certain guidelines that should be followed for disposal/retirement.

Consolidated Towing began by coordinating with Boy Scout Troop 25 several times a year for the appropriate retirement ceremony according to our national ensign. The Flag Retirement has been such a success that it has gone from just Troop 25 to all of the central Oregon areas! Flags are taken to the Crater Lake Council office for them to distribute among the other local Boy Scout Troops and Cub Scout Packs.

This service is free. However, if you would like to make a donation to Boy Scout Troop 25, your generosity is always appreciated.
