Before an interview can be done, we must have a completed application. Although a resume is always appreciated, our application must be completed in full and in your own handwriting.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Consolidated Towing is staffed 24/7 with drivers and dispatch. Our current fleet of over 25 pieces of equipment includes passenger vehicles, light trucks, SUV’s, semi trucks, trailers, a forklift, and Bobcat.
As the fleet mechanic, your responsibilities would include preventative maintenance and light repair for each of these pieces of equipment. We generally do not rebuild engines or transmissions in house and several newer pieces of equipment are under warranty.
Preventative maintenance is crucial to the safe operation of our fleet and limiting excessive costs. As such, our equipment is thoroughly inspected every 45 to 60 days. You should be able to operate and test drive every piece of equipment.
On occasion, you will be asked to fix or repair “tow damage” if applicable, such as a knocked off rod in the door after a driver performed a lockout.
Our fleet mechanic might also be commissioned to design or fabricate a new piece of equipment as the owner sees fit.
Rarely will our fleet mechanic be called in for overtime or after hours, but a company phone is provided and you may be contacted in an emergency if one of our trucks goes down or a driver needs your immediate assistance and the problem cannot wait for your normally scheduled shift.
